Talk Therapy

In talk therapy individuals may begin exploring patterns, learning psychoeducational material to assist their autonomous development, or access a space where they may openly explore areas of their own experience and existence with a nonjudgemental, validating, and empathetic therapist.

Talk therapy can also be a way to build a therapeutic relationship while life is relatively calm. Many of us have a primary care provider, hair stylist, accountant, or other trusted person we can call when tax season arrives or our hair needs a trim. As a therapist, I welcome individuals hoping to add “therapist” to their resource list for when life may not be so calm and they want to access therapy.

It can also be a great way to begin discussing areas of current or ongoing challenges and perhaps an opportunity to gain exposure and experience taking up some time and space for yourself (we love that).

Talk therapy can be a great place to start if you know you want to talk about something, but aren’t sure which area or type of therapy to start with. If any of the above describes your experience or what you’re looking for in therapy, I invite you to reach out and connect. I would love to hear more about what you’re hoping for with therapy and see how I can help.

Talk therapy, sometimes referred to as psychotherapy, is typically described as discussing and exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Individuals experiencing life events or challenges such as moving, navigating boundaries, conflict in relationships, fears, or worries about a particular theme, may find talk therapy helpful.
